She offers intriguing views on proper educational methods (such as teaching science historically, to show its hierarchical development). She discusses the advantages of home-schooling and addresses common concerns, like the "problem of socialization." And she shows how, given proper motivation and an essentialized curriculum, children can be taught, among other things, that writing is a process they can master and enjoy, that history is a fascinating subject relevant to their lives, and that reading literary classics is one of life's great pleasures.
